The Welsh language option is not viewer preference. The interface is completely in the language of your choice, but for you only. Viewers will view in their own chosen language.

All 18,000 words and phrases have now been translated! It is now up to the 600+ translation community to vote on them.

Does anyone know whether the Welsh language option is a viewer preference (I want to see all profiles through the medium of Welsh) or the profile owners preference (I want everyone to see my profile in Welsh) or something in between?

Dw i’n gobeithio mod i’n rong ar hyn, ond dw i’n rhagweld na fydd lot fawr o’r 2780 o bobl mae Thomas yn sôn amdano mor frwdfrydig unwaith maen nhw’n deall taw nhw sy fod i gyfieithu’r peth, neu hyd yn oed dim ond gywiro cyfieithiadau pobl eraill.

I don’t think completing the translation will be that difficult with this model, but getting enough people to vote on the translations could be the stumbling block. I’ve just gone through the 226 phrases in the glossary, and that took about half an hour. How many of the 2780 people Thomas mentioned will spend even that much time on this?

It’ll be interesting, whatever happens.

I am all for Facebook in Welsh. I use it in German though but I have some friends on Facebook who are preferrably Welsh-speaking.
Who would translate it into Welsh?
Where does the money come from??

Also, English doesn’t have a word for cyfieithwyr. Foiled.
