Mae hefyd ar gael mewn Saesneg Môr Ladron (gweler y dewis iaith ar dudalen gartref Facebook), ond rydym yn ansicr faint o fôr ladron go-iawn a gyfrannodd at y lleoleiddiad.

Mae gan y sianel deledu gwe Llydaweg – Brezhoweb – gyfres newydd ar-lein. Comedi sefyllfa yw hi, sydd yn cael ei ddarlledu dros y we yn unig. Ken Tuch’ yw enw’r sioe 2-munud o hyd a caiff ei darlledu’n wythnosol. Lleolir y rhaglen mewn tŷ myfyrwyr.

Mae’r diffyg gofod teledu traddodiadol yn yr iaith wedi gorfodi’r Llydawyr i ddefnyddio technoleg newydd i gyrraedd eu cynulleidfa.
Mae Brezhoweb eisoes yn darlledu rhaglen gylchgrawn o’r enw Webnoz yn ogystal â throsleisio ffilmiau i’r Llydaweg.

Brezhoweb the Breton language Web TV channel has launched a brand new Web based situation comedy. Ken Tuch’ is set in common room of a Breton University faculty shared by seven very different friends. Each weekly two minute episode brings these characters together over the common room sink.

The series is produced by Lionel Buannic, the creator of Brezhoweb – the online Breton TV channel, and Samuel Julien, director of Dizale, the agency responsible for dubbing many productions into Breton. The programme is completely in Breton, with optional French subtitles.

Mercator to present report on minority media at FUEN Congress, Pecs

The Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) have designated 2008 the year in which they will focus on the “Fundamental Right to Media”. As part of this the Mercator Institute for Media, Languages and Culture have written a report on the current state of minority media in Europe. This will encompass an overview of the media situation and the judicial and civil rights foundations for the fundamental right to media in ones own language. It will also give recommendations for future developments and actions in order to further minority media in Europe.

The 53rd FUEN Congress will be held in Pécs, Hungary from the 22-25th May 2008. Full details can be found here.

Catalan media moves on apace with new web-only radio station and a broadcast agreement in Sardinia

The Catalan audiovisual media corporation CCMA continues to build on its reputation as being at the vanguard of minority language media. In February it launched its first web-only radio station – CatClàssica – which broadcasts 24 hours a day. This adds to their already impressive range of public radio programming through Radio Catalunya.

The corporation also announced in April that it had signed an agreement with Alguer Television in Sardinia in order that the main television channel TV3 can be viewed in the Catalan speaking enclave of Alguer.

5 companies bid for Welsh press funding
Five tenders have been submitted to the Welsh Books Council who shall distribute the funding of £200,000 (€250,000) a year for 3 years towards the development of the Welsh language press. This sum is seen by many commentators as insufficient to produce a daily newspaper as was initially hoped.

The five companies include a bid from Dyddiol Cyf, the company that has been working towards establishing a Welsh language daily for many years, alongside a bid from Golwg, a Welsh language weekly news magazine. Other bids include two bids from Trinity Mirror who run two English language dailies in Wales, and a bid from Y Cwmni Newyddion (The News Company) which is comprised of several ex-BBC journalists.

A decision will be made on the funding at the end of May, with work expected to commence on the new publication/website immediately.
