Maga Kernow | Standard Written Form Ratified

Mae Partneriaeth yr Iaith Gernyweg (Maga Kernow) wedi pleidleisio i gytuno ar un orthograffi safonol ar gyfer yr iaith Gernyweg. Mae datblygu’r iaith wedi bod yn annodd iawn ers blynyddoedd bellach oherwydd y ffraeo am ba orthograffi oedd yr un cywir i’w ddefnyddio. O ganlyniad methwyd a phenderfynu ar iaith ar gyfer llyfrau ysgol ac ati.

Mae hyn yn newyddion gwirioneddol bwysig ar gyfer dyfodol yr iaith, a gobeithio y bydd yn fan cychwyn ar gyfer iddi ffynnu eto. I chi gîcs ieithyddol, gallwch chi weld manylion y Ffurf Ysgrifen Safonol yma ar wefan Maga.

The Cornish Language Partnership (Maga Kernow) have voted to agree on a single standard orthography for the Cornish language. Language planning and development has been nigh on impossible for years due to the arguments over which was the correct spelling. This resulted in decisions coming to a standstill on which orthogrpahy to use in school texts etc.

This news is of the highest importance for the language and its future and hopefully will be the start point for the revival of the language. For all you language geeks out there you can see the full Standard Written Form specification (all 132 pages of it!) here.

Kernow bys vykken!
